With 70 million baby boomers, personal fitness training is a good profession to be in. Boomers want a better quality of life which puts their health and exercise at the top of their list. They have discretionary income and will be looking to fitness professionals for help.

Personal trainers have the potential to earn a very good salary, but many of them struggle to attain clients and retain them which directly affects their earning potential.

A huge demographic for personal trainers is golfers.

Golfers are educated, earn a high salary and have discretionary income, which is the perfect scenario for fitness professionals.

Also, golfers are use to paying for services. Many if not all of them have paid for a golf instructor, and these instructors charge roughly the same as trainers, so the "sell" is not near as hard.

Golfers are also a "hungry" market! They are desperate to play better. Fitness can be a quick solution for many senior golfers who have declining physical capabilities. Trainers can capitalize on this during the interview process.

Golfers have many playing partners and buddies. Do a good job with the first one and you'll have them lined up... all wanting your new golf fitness personal training services. This is a dream for any trainer! A built in referral system that can double or triple your earning potential. Since it's a "specialty" you can also charge more per session. Find out what the golfer pays for lessons and charge the same.

Many people don't even consider a trainer til later in life, and golfers are that demographic! They are in their 40's, 50's, 60's and above. Perfect for trainers!

Once you become the "golf fitness professional" in your locale, you'll have a flood of golfers wanting your services. All you have to do is get the first few golfers to see amazing results in their driving distance, golf swing consistency and score and they'll be your client for a LONG time.

Golfers are borderline superstitious. They will not want to try out different trainers. If they find one that does a good job, they'll use that trainer for years to come. As in any service business, retention is critical to your earning, and keeping a client is much easier than getting a new one.

Once you build a relationship with your new golf client, you can ask to play with them and analyze their golf swing even more. Talk about elevating your perception as an expert! They will be thoroughly impressed to say the least. Personal training golfers can be very rewarding.

The more you get to know about your golf clients golf swing the better you can devise a program to improve his/her swing faults and golf-specific physical limitations. This will enhance and speed up results even more. If one of your golfing clients see's results in a week or so, they will be hooked for life! We all want "instant" results, and fitness for golfers can almost do that.

If you are a serious fitness professional you should also have a website that your local potential clients can find you. This may entail you to hire a search engine optimization specialist to help you get high rankings in the search engines.

Just picture clients finding your website all day every day. Do you think you'll have some solid leads from that? I think so!

These are exciting times for personal trainers. Especially the ones who really treat it like a business and apply approaches like the ones I discussed today.

One of the most prolific composers was Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who wrote music for several instruments including the clarinet. The clarinet is an instrument that belongs to the family of the woodwind. It is comprised of four hollow pieces of ebony, a barrel, upper and lower joints and a bell, which fit together to make a musical assemblage.

Clarinet sheet music is different than other r sheet music, since the clarinet has a limited tone production. Unlike the piano, which is called the "mother" of all instruments, the clarinet is distinguished between various types of flats. In music, a flat is used to reduce the semitone that produces a lower pitch. The clarinet needs that flat to accommodate its performance and play. There are various kinds of clarinets found including the E Flat, Bass and Alto B Flat, A Major, A Flat, C Major and D Flat. Most people prefer the B Flat clarinet.

Orchestras use clarinets according to the type of music they intend to play. Clarinets cannot be used to play all notes on a regular music sheet. They need to have special music sheets that contain clarinet notes. The B Flat sheet music is specifically written to contain notes that can be played in that style. Clarinet sheet music is very specific, and yet players can play high notes that may not be on the sheet music or "music score."
Today, clarinet sheet music is played in various styles of music -- namely classical, jazz and gospel. A clarinet player must remember the type of music, as every style has its own notes, description and forma. With growing computer software programs, clarinet music is now available on the Internet and can be downloaded and played.

The wedding ceremony needs to be planned extensively several months prior to the occasion. Among the very first things that has to be done is to decide on the location for the wedding. While it is true that weddings are usually held within church premises, nowadays there are various other options available.

For example, in recent times, it has become more common for themed weddings to have caught the fancy of couples. They are quite the innovative means for celebrating this memorable day. In most cases, church weddings are preferred by the bride and groom because of spiritual reasons. Also, the kind of sanctity that is provided to the wedding ceremony through the ambience of the church makes a church setting optimal for a religious affair.

Church weddings, however, have to conform to the religious rituals and customs of that church. This normally means the wedding ceremony is accompanied by the customary singing of hymns and the reading of scriptures. Here, it is also necessary to point out that not everyone conforms to a particular religious belief and may not agree to the idea of having an elaborate church wedding.

In such cases, they may simply choose to visit the office of higher state authorities like the mayor and other certified officials who in turn perform the legal ceremony. This is often an easy way out for a bride and groom who cannot afford a grand wedding. In fact, there are many couples who settle for a simple wedding ceremony in a small chapel without the usual arrangements and without all the wedding finery to evade the high costs that will have to be incurred.

However, what has been observed in most cases is that weddings are occasions that remain etched in one's memory forever. Therefore, most bride and grooms wish to make it an elaborate and grand affair which everyone will remember for years to come.

Theme weddings have in recent times emerged as a popular concept which is quite a novel way of celebrating a couple's big day. Very popular in the case of theme weddings are beach weddings. It is easy to acknowledge that the very idea of uniting in the bond of wedded bliss against the sea waves with nature as the witness is mesmerizing!

All types of music begin with some kind of a rhythm. Rhythm is the foundation on which the whole song is built - and rhythm gives the support to every other member of the band to help them play the song in a way it was meant to be played. So, being a rhythm guitarist is an important job - a rhythm guitarist practically makes the difference between a band that sounds in-tune and a band that just can not get a clean sound.

There are a few tips you - as a guitar player - should pay attention to. Always remember that the rhythm you are playing is the base of the song - play it right and everything will come out fine. So, let's see what you can do to improve your guitar skills as a rhythm player.

1. Get yourself a metronome. Yes, this is the definite number one on our list. Get yourself a metronome and practice with it as much as you can. You don't need to set it on some insanely high frequencies, as the matter of fact you really shouldn't do that. You set it to an appropriate value of beats per minute, depending on the type of music your band is playing.

Once you get familiar with it, listen to original versions of the songs you like, find guitar chords for them somewhere on the internet, set the metronome accordingly and just play along. This is the part when you need to become a master - keeping a steady beat, not losing the rhythm and sounding clean on the way.

2. Play a lot of songs with different types of rhythms and really try to understand each of them. Every song has its own rhythm and you really should get it exactly right. You would be surprised if you knew how many guitar players tend to play every song too fast! Once they feel that they have no problems with playing it, they just subconsciously speed the song up. And that is BAD. The song was meant to be played in a specific way and you really should not speed it up, most likely you will just ruin it. Remember: Playing slower does not mean that you are a lesser guitarist - it means that you know what the song is trying to say!

3. Learn a few tricks to impress the audience. My personal favourite has always been the following: Your band is playing through the verse and is approaching the chorus, which starts with a very specific riff. Once you get to the end of the verse, don't advance to the chorus right away. Just stop playing for a little while. Every member of the band must stop at exactly the same time, so there is a perfect silence. You can feel the energy of the crowd build up as they wait for that great riff - and they are not getting it. Just have them wait for it. And then, after some exact number of beats of the silence, start with the chorus. The crowd will go out of their minds.

4. Well, the final one is pretty expected: practice, practice, practice. Unfortunately, this is and has always been the only road to perfection.

I wish you a great time playing the guitar and a lot of success with your band!

EMG, Inc first started manufacturing guitar pickups back in 1976, known as EMG pickups. Over the years they have earned the reputation for quality, clear sounding pickups used by many professional artists. ESP guitars and Jackson guitars currently use EMG pickups as their standard pickup design. Their high output is preferred by hard rock and heavy metal guitarists because of the pickups higher gain output as opposed to most lower output pickups. Some of the bands and artists who currently endorse EMG pickups are Tom Morrello, Zakk Wylde, Stephen Carpenter, Metallica, Slayer and many others

The most common EMG pickups are the EMG 81 and 85. The EMG 81 is usually considered to be the lead pickup and is more commonly used in the bridge position, while the EMG 85 is mainly used as a rhythm pickup more used in the neck position.

Personally I have had great success with using EMG pickups in a Gibson Les Paul and 7 string ESP guitar especially if you are into heavier sounding music. The clarity, deeper tone, and added gain are what make the pickups more suitable. One negative thing about the EMG active pickups is the need for a 9 volt battery, but it's not much of a problem because the battery lasts for a long time. You just need to make sure you replace the battery at least every 6 months because of tone loss over time.

Installation for a set of EMG pickups is fairly easy depending on the type of guitar you have. With the right tools I was able to install a set of Zakk Wylde custom EMGs in Gibson Les Paul in under an hour. As long as you follow the right installation diagrams for your type of guitar you should not run into any problems. Preventing Demo Suicide

Your demo is your calling card to the music industry. A good demo could result in getting those special gigs on weekend nights or possibly sparking some interest from an A&R rep. A bad demo on the other hand may lead your band into gigging on weekdays in bad time slots were there usually is no audience in the club or worst yet rejection from many people in the music business. Whatever you are using your demo for there are some guide lines that can help you position your band in a favorable light. Likewise there are some things you should avoid at all costs which will label you as non-professional.

Best Song First

Put the best song first on your CD. May people in the music business are very busy and if the first song on your demo doesnt catch them it is highly unlikely that they will listen to the rest of your CD.

3-6 Songs

Put no more than six songs on your demo no less than three. Again, industry people are busy and they will probably not listen to more than six songs.

Label Jacket and CD

Make sure to put your contact info on both the CD as well as your CD jacket. Your tape may get separated from the box and if you dont have your contact info on the CD the listener may not dig through the paperwork of all the other bands that have submitted CD's to find your info. Make it easy for them, have it in both places.

Quality Recording

Make sure that the CD you are sending was decently recorded. It doesnt have to be done in a 24 track full blown studio. Make sure that the recording is clean and sounding good.

Dont Shotgun

Shotguning is sending your CD to hundreds of industry people without checking out what types of music that they work with or if they accept unsolicited submissions. If you are sending to labels check out other artist that are on that label and compare their music to yours. A label that puts out rock albums may not be interested in a country act. The best thing you can do send a letter explaining about your act and that you would like to submit a CD to their record company. Include a self addressed stamped post card for their reply. This will help save you money on postage from those labels that are not interested or wont accept unsolicited CD's.

Well there you have it, follow these quick and dirty rules and you will get you shot at the industry. Good luck and let me know how things work out!

Why Are Pre-1966 Fender Guitars Better Than Later Years?

In doing initial research on the glorious times of Fender, many things have been brought to my attention, but one thing is the saddest of all- that Leo Fender actually let his Fender electric guitars decline in value, quality and tone through the selling of Fender Music Corp to CBS in 1965.

Now, don't get me wrong. The search for the perfect fender vintage guitar, fender relic or reissue, is still ongoing and alive, especially at my site, but there are a few things that need to be cleared up. Why did Leo sell Fender? This will require more research, but why did he sell it to CBS of all companies?

It seems that before '66, the Fender line and legacy was intact, and hands-on love was still applied. After January '65 though, when CBS got control of Fender, many things changed. Everything just seemed to go down hill.

Fender started using plastics, cheaper wood, and a more manufactured building process.

The Years Mattered

One of the reasons why late '64 and early '65 are frowned upon, unless you consider tone to be well, just tone, is that this is really the time that Leo Fender handed over the reigns to the mass-production, lesser-standards company, CBS. Many lament this trade, and wished that it had never happened.

However, probably the worst thing really to come of this selling of Fender was the loss of the maple one piece neck to a three-bolt neck process. This ruined the tone for many people...

The Wood Matters Too?

Fender also took chances with the wood, going for Indian wood instead of Brazilian wood, as well as trading out a crucial component called nitrocellulose lacquer that went over the guitar. They replaced it with polyurethane, which ruined a lot of the tone, feel, and playability. This was a few years later, but the die was cast, and Fender guitars from before late 1964 started to climb in stature, fame, and value, because of the un-tampered tone and quality of the instruments.

The Good News About Vintage Fender Guitars & CBS

The Vintage market really started to take shape around the time CBS took over, because not only would these guitars become more valuable, the fender electrics before the end of '64, time would also start to add a huge boost to their value and worth. So, really, the CBS takeover was good for vintage collectors in a way, because the CBS fiasco made a certain segment of vintage fender guitars much more valuable than other models Fender would produce after '64-'65.

An Introduction to the Electric Guitar

Electric Guitar

Electric guitar is a type of guitar that uses electronic pickups to convert the vibration of its steel-cord strings into electrical current. The signal may be electrically altered to achieve various tonal effects prior to being fed into an amplifier, which produces the final sound which can be either an electrical sound or an acoustic sound. Distortion, equalization, or other pedals can change the sound that is emitted from the amplifier.

The electric guitar is used extensively in many popular styles of music, including almost all genres of rock and roll, country music, pop music and also in some classic music.

Custom electric guitars

Onyx Forge custom electric guitars based in California, USA is the one stop for all the custom electric guitars. Their ideal custom guitar includes 6, 7 and 12 string standards guitars. Also specializes in exotic woods and custom switching for active, passive or piezo pickups.

Acoustic electric guitars

Some steel-string acoustic guitars are fitted with pickups purely as an alternative to using a separate microphone. These are called electric acoustic guitars, and are regarded as acoustic guitars rather than electric guitars. These should not be confused with hollo body electric guitars, which are more of electric guitars fitted with hollow sound chambers.

History of the electric guitar

Adolph Rickenbacker invented the electric guitar.

Electric guitars were originally designed by an assortment of luthias, electronics enthusiasts, and instrument manufacturers, in varying combinations. In 1935, a Soviet scientist working separately from his western colleagues was known to have produced an electric Russian guitar called Kuznetsov electromagnetic guitar.

The first recording of an electric guitar was by jazz guitarist Beddie Durham in 1937.

Electric guitar strings

Guitar strings are strung parallel to the neck, whose surface is covered by the fingerboard. By depressing a string against the fingerboard, the effective length of the string can be changed, which in turn changes the frequency at which the string will vibrate when plucked. Guitarists typically use one hand to pluck the strings and the other to depress the strings against the fretboard. Traditionally, the dominant hand is assigned the task of plucking or strumming the strings.

In electric guitars, transducers known as pickups convert string vibration to an electronic signal, which in turn is amplified and fed to speakers, which vibrate the air to produce the sound we hear.

Electric guitar cases

Case is where the guitar is kept to protect the guitar as well to carry it from one place to another in order to protect it some of the cases available for guitar can be listed as follows:

The AME-30 is designed to fit Archtop guitars. Featuring the revolutionary Ameritage Humidity Control System, which protects instruments against climatic effects which cause swelling?

Calton Electric Guitar Cases will accommodate most electric, acoustic electric and electric hollow body guitars. Due to the shaped nature of a Calton case, the instrument's horn length and headstock offset are critical measurements that may be requested for your case to be made.

Electric bass guitar

The electric bass guitar is an electrically-amplified fingered string instrument. The bass is similar in appearance to an electric guitar, but with a larger body, a longer neck and scale length, and, usually, four strings tuned an octave lower in pitch, in the bass range.

The bass is typically used to provide the low-pitched bassline and bass runs in popular music and jazz. The electric bass is also used as a soloing instrument in jazz, fusion, and latin.
